On Wednesday, the Hawks tangled with the Milwaukee Bucks. For the past four visits to Milwaukee, Atlanta has left as the loser.
Four straight. Now, the Hawks haven’t been exactly world beaters the past few years, but they’ve had more of a pulse than Milwaukee.
Well, the way things started it looked like it was going to be 0 for 5 in Milwaukee. In fact, the Hawks had to overcome a 13 point deficit to tie the game in the third period. Things were looking good after the third, a quarter in which the Hawks outscored the Bucks 31-12.
Things are looking up, right? Not exactly. The Bucks outscored the Hawks 31-29 in the fourth but Atlanta managed to hold on for the win by eight.
When a team like Atlanta is trying to secure home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs plays a team that is currently 12th out of a 15 team conference, there shouldn’t be any drama.
It should be like UNC handling Michigan State in the championship game on Monday.
Home court advantage shouldn’t be given to you, Hawks. You should have to earn it.
