Gear Up For Hawks Basketball

Starting the Season On the Right Foot

I like what I saw in the Hawks’ win over Indiana Wednesday night.

I like the fact that the Hawks kept the turnovers to single digits and the Pacers had three times as many turnovers. I liked the three point shooting of Jeff Teague and Mike Bibby and I really liked the rotation that coach Woodson used in this game.

There was a stretch in the second period when the starters were on the bench and the reserves were playing very valuable, very long minutes. Oh sure, the Pacers had a lead at the time, but the reserve squad came back and took the lead from Indiana. The reserves played strong and they played as a unit.

I particularly liked the freshness the starters showed in the fourth quarter when they finally put Indiana away for good.

If this is how the Hawks are gonna play all season, it’s going to be a sweet year.
