He’s no longer a Hawk, but it’s good to see
Shelden Williams catching on with the Celtics
and having some success as a role player. |

I realize that the NBA season is a long one. 10 months, I believe, if you win a championship. I also realize that the Hawks and Celtics will tangle again this season. After all, this isn’t the NFL.But I couldn’t help but to be a little giddy when the Hawks not only beat the Boston Celtics, one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference, if not in the league, but beat them on the road.
The Hawks only won 16 road games last year. That number has to improve if the Hawks are to compete for an NBA title. So far, it has. The Hawks have a winning road record this year: 4-2.
It’s still early, yes, but that is a step in the right direction. |
Speaking of a step in the right direction, kudos to Joe Johnson for calling his teammates out. After the Charlotte game, he was critical of his team calling them “immature.” He told ESPN during the telecast that he was tired of the Hawks taking some teams “for granted.”
Well, it must have worked because the Hawks haven’t lost since the Charlotte game. In fact, Al Horford said after the game that beating Boston was “a big win for us” and it was “a great team effort.” So, it is good to see this team coming together.
So far, Hawk fans you gotta like what you see.
